Vilamoura has two magnificent beaches that delight everyone who comes to visit them.
Praia de Vilamoura, to the east of the Marina mole, is very welcoming and its golden beaches are in the centre of Vilamoura.
Praia da Falésia, to the west of the Marina, is a beach with fine white sand which stretches for over 3 km between the warm, calm waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the dunes and high cliffs with their warm colours; in the background, the tops of the green stone pines and the golf courses. The car parks make it easy to reach the beach on foot and this can be done over a magnificent bridge over the Ribeira de Quarteira and raised walkways which cross the dunes.
Both beaches are equipped with everything you could possibly need for total comfort: thatched umbrellas, sun loungers, pedalos, facilities for visitors with limited mobility, beach buggies for wheelchair users, first aid post and showers. There are magnificent restaurants and snack bars overlooking the beach where you can enjoy a light meal, a lunch of fresh fish, a cocktail at sunset or a magnificent moonlit dinner.
The climate is suitable all year round for a visit to the beach, both for bathing during the hot summer months and for walks during the remaining mild months of the year.
